Grievance Committee Meeting Held in Himmatnagar, Sabarkantha

A crucial meeting of the Sabarkantha District Coordination and Grievance Committee took place in Himmatnagar. Local leaders and officials gathered to address important issues affecting the community. Tushar Chaudhary, the MLA from Khedbrahma, raised questions about the construction of panchayat houses in tribal areas. He also inquired about the implementation of the MGNREGA scheme, which provides job guarantees for rural workers.

V.D. Zala, the MLA from Himmatnagar, discussed various community issues. These included the integration of areas into the municipality, the construction of panchayat houses, and the presence of illegal foreign nationals in the district. He also highlighted concerns regarding reservoir filling, national highways, and railway services.

Ramila B. Bara, a member of the Rajya Sabha, brought up important topics related to education in tribal areas. She questioned the availability of drinking water in schools and discussed the development of pilgrimage sites. Shobhanaben Baraiya, an MP, raised issues about the roads in Talod city.

During the meeting, implementation officers responded to the questions raised by the elected representatives. The second part of the meeting focused on the ‘Dharatiamba Jan Jatiya Gram Utkarsh’ campaign. Officials discussed road safety initiatives and awareness campaigns. The district collector provided necessary guidance and suggestions to the implementation officers.

The district collector also urged attendees to register as volunteers for the ‘My India – Citizen Protection’ initiative. This programme aims to involve citizens in community safety efforts and enhance local governance. The meeting ended on a positive note, with officials promising to work on the raised issues and improve the living standards in the Sabarkantha district.

Sabarkantha district, established in 1976, is located in the northern part of Gujarat. It borders Rajasthan and includes several towns like Himmatnagar, Idar, and Khedbrahma. The district has a significant population of tribal communities and faces various socio-economic challenges. With a total population of about 1.47 million, the district aims to improve access to education, health, and infrastructure for its residents. The meeting was a step towards addressing these issues and ensuring better governance in the region.
