The Gujarat government has announced new guidelines for its employees, pensioners, and their families under the PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) scheme. This initiative aims to provide cashless healthcare benefits to state employees and their dependents. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Health Minister Rishikesh Patel have taken significant steps to ensure that all eligible employees can access these benefits.
Under the PMJAY scheme, families can receive up to ₹10 lakh for cashless treatment. To avail of these benefits, employees, pensioners, and their family members must obtain a certificate that details their dependent family members. This certificate is to be issued by the head of their respective offices.
The scheme requires employees to possess a PMJAY card, which is facilitated by the State Health Agency (SHA). The SHA is responsible for distributing these cards, ensuring that all eligible individuals can benefit from the healthcare services provided under the scheme.
According to the guidelines, family members eligible for benefits must meet the definitions outlined in the Gujarat State Service (Medical Treatment) Rules, 2015. For All India Services (AIS) officers, the applicable rules are the AIS (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1954. The certificate confirming the details of dependent family members must be presented by the office head.
For AIS and state government pensioners, the pensioner must obtain a certificate from the District Treasury Officer or the relevant office from which they receive their pension. This is essential for verifying their eligibility for the PMJAY benefits.
Each family member’s Aadhaar number must also be included in the certificate for E-KYC purposes. This ensures proper identification and aids in streamlining the process for receiving benefits.
In cases where an employee leaves service without regular appointment or resigns, the last office where they served must promptly inform the SHA. This is crucial for updating the lists of beneficiaries and ensuring that only eligible individuals receive benefits under the PMJAY scheme.
The Gujarat government aims to enhance the well-being of its employees through this initiative, ensuring they have access to necessary medical services without financial burden. The PMJAY scheme is a significant step towards improving the health security of state employees and their families, providing them with peace of mind and better healthcare access.
Overall, these guidelines reflect the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce and ensuring that they receive the benefits they deserve under the PMJAY scheme. The emphasis on clear procedures and documentation aims to streamline the process and make healthcare more accessible for all state employees.
