Gujarat Bye-Elections: BJP Leads in Kadi, Tight Contest in Visavadar

The recent bye-elections in Kadi and Visavadar have drawn significant attention. Counting of votes began today, 23rd June 2025, and early reports indicate a strong lead for the BJP candidate in Kadi. Meanwhile, the Visavadar seat has turned into a fierce contest. After seven rounds of counting, BJP’s Rajendra Chavda is leading in Kadi with a total of 81,424 votes. This strong performance has positioned him well ahead of his competitors. In Visavadar, it is a different story. The race is close between BJP’s Kirit Patel and AAP’s Gopal Italiya. Counting at the Junagadh centre started at 8 am today. The competition between AAP and Congress for this seat has been intense, with leads changing frequently. As of 10:30 am, Gopal Italiya from AAP had secured 23,375 votes, while Kirit Patel from BJP had 23,270 votes, and Congress candidate Nitin Ranpariya trailed with only 134 votes. The counting in Kadi is taking place at Mevada Engineering College in Mehsana. Reports suggest that Rajendra Chavda’s lead over his rivals is expanding, with a total of 131,950 votes counted thus far. Chavda has received 99,987 votes, while Congress’s Ramesh Chavda has garnered 16,675 votes. AAP is currently behind with only 891 votes. The bye-elections were necessitated after the passing of sitting MLA Karshan Solanki early this year. In Visavadar, there was a shift when AAP’s Bhupat Bhayani resigned and joined BJP, leading to the need for a bye-election here as well. The political atmosphere leading up to these elections has been highly charged, with all major parties, including BJP, Congress, and AAP, vying for victory. The elections were held on 19th June 2025, and the results are shaping the political landscape as we speak. The counting results show a clear trend emerging in Kadi, while Visavadar remains uncertain as votes continue to be counted. Both seats are crucial for the parties involved, and the results will have implications for future elections in Gujarat. As the day progresses, more updates will be available, especially from Visavadar, where the competition is proving to be much stiffer than expected. The BJP’s strong performance in Kadi may set the tone for their campaign strategy in the upcoming elections, while the close race in Visavadar will be closely watched by political analysts and party workers alike. With voter sentiment swinging between parties, it will be interesting to see how these results impact the future political scenario in Gujarat. The counting continues, and further updates will be provided as they come in.
