Gujarat Chief Minister Inaugurates Swaminarayan Gurukul in Dabhoi

Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, recently inaugurated the new Swaminarayan Gurukul in Dabhoi. This event marks the beginning of a new educational journey for students in the region. Chief Minister Patel emphasized the importance of education not just as a tool for growth but also as a means to instill values and culture in students. He shared insights on the ancient Gurukul tradition where princes received education from sages. This tradition is being revived in modern times, blending old practices with contemporary methods. The Gurukul aims to prepare a generation that is not only well-educated but also rooted in patriotism and spirituality.

During the inauguration, Patel highlighted the role of education in nation-building. He mentioned that the new education policy introduced by Prime Minister Modi aims to create a developed India by 2047. This initiative encourages the establishment of sector-specific universities and a mother-tongue based educational system. The Chief Minister also noted that the state government is working on improving the quality of education through various campaigns, including the Gunotsav initiative, which focuses on enhancing school standards.

Patel expressed pride in the increase in the number of students enrolling in science streams, thanks to schemes like the Namoh Lakshmi and Namoh Saraswati programmes. He pointed out that there was a 27% rise in science stream admissions in just one year. The Gurukul is equipped with modern facilities, including hostels and advanced technology, enabling a comprehensive educational experience.

He also pointed out the importance of institutions like the Swaminarayan Gurukul in promoting environmental initiatives. These institutions play a vital role in campaigns such as ‘Say No to Single-Use Plastic’ and ‘Plant a Tree for Every Name’. This aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision for a greener India.

In his address, Patel congratulated the Indian military for their bravery in recent operations, which he described as a significant step in India’s fight against terrorism. He emphasized that the spirit of patriotism and service to the nation should inspire future generations.

The inauguration witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including saints and prominent citizens.
