Gandhinagar, Gujarat – Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a high-level review meeting on September 25 to assess the progress of over 21 high-priority development projects across nine departments. These projects are worth more than ₹18,000 crore. The meeting included Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, Chief Minister’s Principal Advisor Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, and senior officials from relevant departments.
The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of completing these projects on time and maintaining quality standards. He noted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has established itself as a role model for development. The Chief Minister stated that effective and timely completion of these projects would enhance this image.
During the meeting, Bhupendra Patel suggested that a high-level committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary, should hold regular review meetings to coordinate efforts for project completion. He also instructed senior officials to conduct field visits to monitor the progress of these high-priority projects.
The review covered significant initiatives, including deep-sea pipeline projects for industries in Surat and Vapi, and the development of the Bhavnagar Brownfield Port. The Chief Minister also discussed fishing harbour development projects in Veraval, Sutrapada, and Madhavadi.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the expansion and strengthening of state highways and the construction of major bridges. The Road and Building Department and officials from the National Highway Authority of India participated in these discussions.
Bhupendra Patel also examined the progress of a state-of-the-art police training centre being built at a cost of ₹500 crore. This facility aims to train over 2,500 police personnel. He received updates on the construction of a new OPD at the Surat New Civil Hospital and a 425-bed civil hospital in Manasa, Gandhinagar, stressing the need to expedite these health projects.
The Chief Minister reviewed urban development projects, including the construction of approximately 10,000 EWS (Economically Weaker Section) houses in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation area and a railway overbridge project in Talod between the Dahgam-Himmatnagar railway stations.
Patel also assessed various other projects, such as the Amul-fed dairy plant in Gadhka, pipeline projects by the Water Resources Department, and electrical distribution infrastructure in Vadodara and Dahod.
He urged all departments involved in these high-priority projects to prioritise quality assurance and ensure that necessary steps are taken for successful implementation. The meeting included participation from Deputy Chief Secretary M.K. Das, senior officials from relevant departments, and advisers to the Chief Minister.
Bhupendra Patel’s proactive approach towards these development initiatives reflects his commitment to enhancing Gujarat’s infrastructure and services. Under his leadership, the state aims to accelerate development and improve the quality of life for its residents. The Chief Minister’s focus on timely project completion will not only boost the state’s economy but also create job opportunities and foster growth across various sectors.
