On July 24, 2025, Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, will inaugurate a series of development projects worth ₹358.37 crores from Suigam in Banaskantha district. The event will include the groundbreaking of various initiatives aimed at improving health, education, energy, and urban development in the region.
One of the highlights will be the inauguration of the newly constructed Suigam bus station, which costs ₹1.83 crores. This facility is expected to enhance connectivity for local residents and visitors. In addition, a new civil hospital in Disa, costing ₹80 crores, will also be launched, ensuring better healthcare services for the community.
The Chief Minister will also inaugurate the newly built Panchayat Bhavan in Dhanera, further strengthening local governance. The total budget for the projects includes ₹302.69 crores for new initiatives and ₹55.68 crores for completed works. These projects aim to boost the development pace of Banaskantha and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
As part of the initiative, the Chief Minister will launch ₹40.77 crores worth of electrical substations, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to residents in Palanpur, Disa, Tharad, and Lakhni. This is a significant step towards providing 24-hour electricity to the area.
In healthcare, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation for various health-related projects worth ₹87.18 crores, including six new sub-health centres in Tharad and a new urban primary health centre in Palanpur. Additionally, the Disa civil hospital will greatly enhance healthcare delivery in the district.
A model fire station will also be established in Palanpur with a budget of ₹9.56 crores. This facility will improve emergency response capabilities in the area. The Chief Minister will also initiate the construction of a town hall in Disa, with an investment of ₹18.56 crores, and a 50 MLD water treatment plant worth ₹9.24 crores, which will help provide clean drinking water to the residents.
The Chief Minister’s visit will also include a trip to the Nadeshwari Mata temple and a dialogue with BSF soldiers at the Nadabet Border Outpost (BOP). This interaction comes after the recent success of Operation Sindoor, showcasing the dedication of BSF personnel in securing the nation’s borders.
Nadabet is significant not only for its strategic location but also for its historical importance during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The BSF demonstrated exceptional bravery by capturing over 1,000 square kilometres of Pakistani territory, which was later returned following the Shimla Agreement.
Visitors to Nadabet can experience a rich tapestry of history, as several war artifacts, including a MiG-27 aircraft and T-55 tanks, are on display. The area is also equipped with facilities for tourists, including viewing decks for observing border activities and a children’s play area.
The Gujarat tourism department has developed various attractions in Nadabet, including exhibition centres, auditoriums, and adventure parks, catering to the growing number of tourists. Adventure enthusiasts can enjoy activities like rock climbing, bungee jumping, and more.
To visit Nadabet, tourists can travel by air to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport in Ahmedabad and then proceed by road. The distance from Ahmedabad to Nadabet is approximately 260 km. Entry fees for tourists are set at ₹100 for adults and ₹50 for children under 12 years.
As the inauguration approaches, excitement builds for the development works that promise to transform the region, making it a better place for residents and visitors alike.
