In Gujarat, the recruitment process for police sub-inspectors and constables is in full swing. A total of 12,472 positions are available across the state. Recently, on April 13, 2025, over 102,935 candidates participated in the written exam for 472 unarmed police sub-inspector positions. Now, the upcoming written exam for the Lok Rakshak cadre is set for June 15, 2025, with more than 247,000 candidates expected to take part.

The Lok Rakshak cadre includes around 12,000 positions, such as unarmed police constables, armed police constables, jail guards, and SRPF roles. The recruitment process began after the completion of the physical test conducted by the police department. The written exam will be held across 825 centres, including major cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Anand, and Gandhinagar.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the exam, the police department has made extensive preparations. More than 8,000 police officers and 18,000 education department officials will oversee the exam. The centres will be monitored using CCTV surveillance to maintain security and prevent irregularities.

The written exam will last for three hours, taking place from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Candidates are advised to arrive by 7:30 AM for biometric and photograph verification. This verification will take place before the exam starts.

In addition to the police department’s arrangements, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has also made special provisions for candidates. Extra buses will run from various districts to the nearest depots on June 14 and 15, ensuring that candidates can reach their exam centres easily. Candidates can book their tickets in advance through the GSRTC website or at local depots.
