In Gandhinagar, preparations are underway for the 41st grand Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, happening tomorrow, Friday. This traditional procession will cover about 30 kilometers, winding through various parts of the city. Due to ongoing work on the metro rail project, the yatra will not take its usual route along the six-road but will instead proceed from Sector 7, travelling along Ch-Road up to the District Panchayat.
The procession is set to begin at 7 AM from the Panchdev Temple in Sector 22. After performing prayers and rituals, the holy chariot will make its way past several important landmarks, including shopping centers, temples, and community spaces. It will reach the main shopping center in Sector 6 at around 9:40 AM, followed by stops at various areas including the Hanumanji Temple, Brahmbhavan, and Bhavaneshwar Mahadev Temple.
At around 12:30 PM, the yatra will arrive at the Jalaram Temple in Sector 29, where it will take a two-and-a-half-hour break. After this rest, the procession will continue to other significant sites like the Central University, Datta Temple, and Someshwar Mahadev Temple, returning to Sector 22 by 7:30 PM.
To ensure a peaceful event, the police have been actively preparing for the yatra. A meeting of the peace committee has been convened, and authorities have provided guidance to maintain a harmonious atmosphere. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate and contribute to a peaceful celebration.
