In Gujarat, the supplementary examinations are set to begin on June 23. However, over 530 schools have not yet provided hall tickets to their students for the Class 10 supplementary exams. The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) issued these hall tickets through its website on June 12. Despite this, many students are facing issues as their schools have not downloaded the tickets.
The process for issuing hall tickets requires schools to download them, verify the students’ details, and then add the student’s photo. After this, the class teacher and the principal must sign the ticket before giving it to the students. With only three days left until the exams start, the board has received complaints about the delays.
In response to these complaints, the board has instructed all schools to urgently ensure that students receive their hall tickets. The supplementary exams are crucial for students who have failed in one or more subjects, as they provide a chance to improve their grades and not lose a year.
The GSEB has a structured system in place for students who need to take these exams. Students who have failed in up to three subjects are eligible to register for the supplementary exams. This year, the board has made it clear that students must register online through their schools to take the exams. The registration fee is set at ₹150 for one subject and increases with the number of subjects. Notably, girl students and differently-abled candidates are exempt from the exam fees.
The supplementary exams will run from June 23 to July 3, covering both Class 10 and Class 12 students. The GSEB has published the exam schedule on its official website, gseb.org, where students can check the dates and download the hall tickets once available.
