Gujarat State Government Employees to Benefit from PMJAY Scheme

The Gujarat state government has announced important guidelines for its employees, pensioners, and their families regarding the Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY scheme. This scheme, known as the Gujarat Karmayogi Health Security Scheme, will provide cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh per family under the G category cards. The Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, and Health Minister, Rishikesh Patel, have led this initiative to enhance healthcare access for state employees and their dependents.

To avail of the benefits under PMJAY, employees and pensioners must provide a certificate showing details of their dependent family members. This certificate should be issued by the head of the office where the employee works. The Health Department has released detailed instructions on how eligible employees can apply for the scheme.

A PMJAY card is necessary to access the cashless health benefit package. The distribution of these cards is managed by the State Health Agency (SHA). Furthermore, employees and pensioners are required to comply with the Gujarat State Service (Medical Treatment) Rules, 2015, which define eligibility criteria and family definitions for benefits.

For All India Services (AIS) officers, the AIS (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1954, will apply. This means that dependent family members must be certified by the respective officers based on the applicable rules. The office heads will issue these certificates in a specified format.

In addition, pensioners must provide a certificate from the district treasury office or the relevant pension payment office where they receive their pension. The SHA will need to be informed promptly if an employee or pensioner becomes ineligible for the scheme due to resignation or retirement.

All family members must also provide their Aadhaar numbers for e-KYC purposes. Employees with fixed salaries must report any changes in their employment status to the SHA, to ensure that only eligible individuals remain on the beneficiary list. The SHA will then update the records accordingly.

This scheme aims to improve healthcare accessibility for government employees and their families, ensuring they receive the necessary medical treatment without financial burden. The initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to the well-being of its workers and their families, aiming to create a healthier society in Gujarat.

In summary, the PMJAY scheme presents a significant opportunity for Gujarat’s government employees. With the right documentation and adherence to guidelines, they can benefit from extensive healthcare services, improving their quality of life and that of their families. Employees are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the requirements and act promptly to gain access to these benefits. For more information, they can refer to the Health Department’s official communications or consult their office heads for guidance.
