Gujarat Vidyapith Launches 'Kushal' Scheme to Support Talented Students

In a significant move for education in Gujarat, Gujarat Vidyapith has launched the ‘Kushal’ scheme aimed at supporting and encouraging talented students. The scheme was inaugurated by the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, during a special event held at the university campus. This event was part of the National Service Scheme (NSS) National Unity Camp. The ‘Kushal’ scheme will provide scholarships to promising students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Starting from the academic year 2025-26, the university plans to grant scholarships to 100 outstanding students each year. The total financial commitment for this initiative is set at ₹10 lakhs annually.

The decision to launch this ambitious plan was made during a meeting held on March 21 at Gurukul Kurukshetra, organized by the Gujarat Vidyapith Trust. The aim is to enhance academic and research activities at the university, fostering a better educational environment. Students who receive the ‘Kushal’ scholarship are expected to inspire their peers and contribute positively to the academic atmosphere at the Vidyapith.

The scheme is seen as a landmark step towards the holistic development of students and their academic excellence. Many believe that it will set a precedent for more initiatives aimed at student welfare and educational enhancement.

The Gujarat Vidyapith, founded by Mahatma Gandhi on October 18, 1920, has a rich history of promoting education that aligns with national values. The institution has continuously evolved to meet the educational needs of the time while staying true to its founding principles. With the ‘Kushal’ scheme, the Vidyapith continues its legacy of fostering talent and leadership among students.

The ‘Kushal’ initiative reflects a commitment to nurturing the abilities of young individuals who can contribute to society. The Vidyapith aims to create an environment where students can thrive academically and personally, preparing them for future challenges. As the university embarks on this new chapter, hopes are high that it will lead to significant advancements in educational quality and student success in Gujarat. This initiative not only aims to uplift individual students but also seeks to enhance the overall educational landscape of the region, making it a beacon of learning and inspiration for future generations.
