Gujarat’s weather department has announced a forecast for light to moderate rain across 15 districts. This rain is expected to bring some relief from the heat in southern Gujarat, Saurashtra, and central Gujarat. The forecast covers the period from May 30 to June 1, 2025. Rain with thunder is predicted for areas including Mahisagar, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Gir Somnath, Amreli, and Bhavnagar on May 31. The weather department warns that light to moderate rain may also hit districts such as Ahmedabad, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Dang, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu.
Since the morning of May 30, many talukas in the state have experienced cloudy weather with light to moderate rain. A total of 34 talukas have recorded rainfall, with Ahwa receiving 23 mm and Zaghadiya 22 mm. In the last 24 hours, 89 talukas have reported rainfall, with Modasa recording 2.4 inches and Saraswati 2.2 inches.
The weather bulletin indicates that light to moderate rain is expected in Dang, Tapi, Anand, Dahod, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Bharuch, Narmada, Chhota Udaipur, Surat, Navsari, and Valsad in the next three hours. There is also a possibility of lightning in some areas.
As the state prepares for the rainy season, residents are advised to stay alert and follow weather updates. Local authorities are on standby to assist in case of heavy rainfall or flooding.
