Gujarat's Chief Minister Unveils 'Sonani Hatdi' Book at Umiya Dham

On April 8, 2023, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the book ‘Sonani Hatdi’ at the World Umiya Dham in Ahmedabad. This book celebrates the rich history of the Patidar community, featuring a lineage that spans approximately 750 years. The event highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration among communities. The Chief Minister emphasised that strength lies in unity, stating that great achievements are possible when people work together. He compared the past struggles for independence with today’s focus on cooperation for prosperity.

During the event, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, which has propelled Gujarat’s progress across various sectors. He mentioned the government’s commitment to cleanliness, semiconductor development, and green energy initiatives as key areas of focus. The Chief Minister also discussed the Prime Minister’s ten commitments aimed at tackling future challenges, encouraging everyone to contribute to the state’s and nation’s development.

R.P. Patel, president of the World Umiya Foundation, noted that during the freedom struggle, the Patidar community had a significant role as one of the few indigenous princely states. Today, members of this community are involved in diverse industries, from agriculture to aviation. He expressed gratitude to both the central and state governments for their support in constructing the Umiya Dham temple, highlighting it as a source of strength.

The event also recognised the Patidar community members who contributed to the book’s creation. Notable attendees included Patidar leaders and community members, who celebrated their heritage and ongoing contributions to society. The book launch underscores the importance of preserving and honouring the community’s history while fostering a spirit of collaboration for future growth.
