Mehsana district in North Gujarat is preparing for an exciting event. The first ever ‘Dharoi Adventure Fest’ will open on May 23, 2025. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will inaugurate the fest at 9:30 AM at the beautiful Dharoi Dam.
This fest promises thrilling experiences across land, water, and sky. Organised by the Gujarat Tourism Department and the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), the festival will feature over ten exciting activities. Visitors can enjoy cultural programmes along with modern facilities such as air-conditioned tent cities.
At the fest, visitors will find 21 tents, including Darbar, Premium, and Deluxe tents. There will also be an air-conditioned dormitory with over 100 beds to accommodate guests comfortably.
Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera shared more details about the adventure activities available. Attendees can try thrilling water activities like power boating and parasailing. For sky enthusiasts, there will be paramotoring. Land activities will include rock climbing, bouldering, trekking, hiking trails, mountain biking, cycling, and camping.
To enhance the experience, the fest will also offer stargazing sessions, astronomy workshops, nature walks, and photography tours. Each evening, cultural activities will entertain visitors, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere.
Minister Bera added that safety is a priority. The fest will have immediate health services, certified rides, and measures for fire safety. These arrangements ensure a safe environment for all attendees.
The ‘Dharoi Adventure Fest’ is not just a festival, but a unique blend of adventure, culture, and memorable experiences in a natural setting. The Tourism Minister invites everyone to visit Dharoi during their vacation and enjoy this thrilling experience with family and friends.
Various accommodation packages will be available, including a royal suite, premium tents, and deluxe AC Swiss cottages. Each package includes breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner to ensure guests have a delightful stay.
Dharoi Dam, located near the village of Dharoi, is a gravity dam built on the Sabarmati River and completed in 1978. Its main purposes are irrigation, power generation, and flood control. The dam has submerged several villages, with a total of 349.39 hectares of forest land, 2,727.55 hectares of wasteland, and 7,489.87 hectares of arable land now under water.
The dam has provided irrigation to 31,393 hectares of land from 2007 to 2008. The nearest airport is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, which is 121 km away, while Mehsana Junction is the closest railway station at a distance of 81 km.
