The Association of SPIPA Students’ Alumni (ASSA) hosted a grand ceremony in Ahmedabad to honour 61 bright candidates who passed the Indian Civil Service and Forest Service exams for 2023 and 2024. The event took place at the GSC Bank Auditorium, showcasing the remarkable achievements of these candidates. The Chief Guest of the event was Shri Rishikeshbhai Patel, the state’s Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Higher and Technical Education. He expressed his pride in the accomplishments of SPIPA and its role in motivating young people in Gujarat to pursue civil services.

During his speech, Patel highlighted that this year, a record 26 youths from Gujarat successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services exams. He emphasised, ‘Gujarat can do, and Gujaratis can do.’ This statement reflects the growing trend of Gujarat’s youth aspiring to serve the nation through civil services. He also mentioned the goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, underscoring the importance of bureaucrats in realising governmental policies on the ground.

The event was not just about recognition but also inspiration. The Chairman of the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC), Shri Hasmukh Patel, spoke about the need for motivation during the ups and downs of civil service preparations. He praised SPIPA’s role as both a guide and an inspiration for the youth of Gujarat.

The ceremony featured speeches from successful candidates who shared their struggles and experiences. They encouraged younger aspirants to focus on serving the public as their ultimate goal. On this occasion, ACB Director Shri Piyush Patel remarked on how SPIPA has changed the perception that Gujaratis do not choose civil services as a career. He lauded the successful candidates as role models for millions of young people in Gujarat.

The event was meticulously organised under the leadership of ASSA President Shri Dilip Rana (IAS) and Vice-President Shri Alpesh Parmar (IRS). It attracted a large audience, including senior officials, distinguished guests, and families of the candidates, all contributing to an atmosphere of celebration and motivation for future administrators. The essence of the ceremony was not only to celebrate academic success but to instil a sense of responsibility in the new bureaucrats towards serving the community.

The support from SPIPA has been instrumental in changing the narrative around civil services in Gujarat. The association continues to foster a culture of excellence, urging the youth to rise to the occasion and contribute positively to society. The path laid out by SPIPA serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for future generations, echoing the sentiments of capability and determination inherent in the Gujarati spirit.
