In a historic achievement for India, Harsh Mukesh Sanghani has been elected as the Chairman of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) Youth Committee. Founded in 1895 in London, the ICA is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. It comprises over 306 organizations from 105 countries, representing more than one billion members. The alliance fosters collaboration through its various initiatives, ensuring that skills, knowledge, and cooperative activities are shared among its members.
As the Chairman of the ICA Youth Committee, Sanghani’s responsibilities include promoting and developing cooperative organizations, safeguarding the fundamental principles of cooperation, and enhancing cooperation across the globe. The committee also focuses on guidance, training, and the promotion of democratic control and economic participation within cooperatives.
