On July 11, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Vadodara when the Gambiri Bridge collapsed. This bridge connected the villages of Mujpur and Padra in the Vadodara district. The bridge had been in a poor state for many years. Unfortunately, the collapse resulted in the deaths of 12 people and injured several others. Many vehicles fell into the river during the incident, causing significant concern among local residents and officials.

Health Minister Rishikesh Patel visited the SSG Hospital in Vadodara to meet the injured victims. He inquired about their conditions and ensured that they received the best possible care. During his visit, he also spoke with the medical staff to confirm that all necessary resources were available for the treatment of the injured.

The Gambiri Bridge was crucial for connecting Anand and Vadodara districts. Its sudden collapse disrupted transportation and communication in the area. Many locals expressed their anger towards the government for not maintaining the bridge properly. The bridge had been known to be in a dangerous condition for some time, and calls for action were made prior to the collapse.

Following the accident, rescue operations were launched immediately. Emergency services worked throughout the night to recover vehicles and assist victims. Reports indicate that at least 18 bodies have been recovered so far, with several others still missing. The local authorities are continuing their search efforts, and the government has vowed to provide support to the victims’ families. Each family of the deceased will receive 400,000 rupees, while the injured will receive 50,000 rupees to assist with their medical expenses.
