On May 26, heavy rain is also predicted in 15 districts, including Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Anand, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Chhota Udaipur, Narmada, Navsari, Dang, and Valsad. Wind speeds of 50-70 km/h will accompany the thunderstorms across Gujarat.

The forecast indicates that on May 27, districts such as Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad will also experience heavy rain. A yellow alert has been issued for these regions. The following day, on May 28, the same districts will be under alert for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.

In response to this weather warning, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has instructed the establishment of control rooms. He has advised the administrative staff in Saurashtra and South Gujarat districts to remain alert and prepared. The control rooms will operate around the clock in the districts under yellow alert.

This heavy rain warning comes amid unusual weather patterns observed in many parts of the country. An active weather system in the Arabian Sea and a western disturbance are influencing the weather conditions. Cyclonic circulation is also present in the northeast Arabian Sea near the southern Gujarat coast, contributing to the expected rainfall.

Residents are advised to take precautions during this period. Authorities recommend avoiding unnecessary travel, especially in areas with a high possibility of flooding. Farmers and those in agriculture-related activities should prepare for the weather and protect their crops.

Overall, the weather department urges everyone to stay informed about the latest updates and to follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities. The upcoming days may bring significant rainfall, and it is essential to stay cautious and prepared for any potential disruptions.
