The weather department has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall across Gujarat until July 1. This forecast comes as many areas, including Saurashtra and South Gujarat, have already started experiencing increased rainfall. The weather director, A.K. Das, mentioned that regions such as Surat, Bharuch, Valsad, Navsari, and Dangs are likely to see extreme rainfall.
In Central Gujarat, areas like Dahod and Panchmahal are also expecting significant rain. The weather department has raised an orange alert for Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, and Chhota Udepur districts due to the potential for heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for regions like Amreli, Bhavnagar, Sabarkantha, Narmada, Panchmahal, Navsari, and Valsad.
From June 27 to 29, heavy downpours are predicted in the districts of Kutch, Morbi, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Patan, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Navsari, Valsad, Gandhinagar, and Panchmahal.
On June 30, alerts for heavy rain will be applicable to Valsad, Navsari, Tapi, Dangs, Banaskantha, Amreli, and Bhavnagar. Furthermore, on July 1, a warning is in place for heavy rainfall in Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dangs, Valsad, Bhavnagar, and Amreli.
Citizens are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions as the rain can lead to flooding and other weather-related issues. The department will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. As Gujarat prepares for this weather, many are hoping for relief from the heat, while also being mindful of the potential dangers of heavy rainfall.
