Heavy Rain Forecast for Gujarat Until June 1st

The weather department has issued a yellow alert for six districts in Gujarat, predicting heavy rainfall with thunderstorms until June 1st. The alert comes as the monsoon season appears to have arrived earlier than usual this year, breaking records in neighbouring states. The districts affected include Saurashtra and northern Gujarat.

For the next six days, the weather will be quite stormy, with wind speeds of 40-50 km/h expected across most areas. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea due to the strong winds and potential for thunderstorms.

According to the weather forecast, moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Bharuch, Narmada, Panchmahal, Dahod, Surat, Tapi, Dangs, Navsari, and Valsad from May 30 to June 1. The weather department has stated that the wind will maintain its high speed during this period.

A low-pressure system formed in the Arabian Sea is causing these weather changes, leading to heavy winds and rain in the state. In response to the situation, the state government has instructed district administrative systems in alert zones to remain vigilant and prepared. Control rooms will operate 24/7 to monitor the situation.

On Monday, May 26, heavy winds of 40-60 km/h are expected in various districts, including Surendranagar, Botad, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Chhota Udaipur, Narmada, Tapi, Dangs, Navsari, and Valsad. An orange alert has been issued for these areas, warning of thunderstorms and moderate rain. Other districts may also experience strong winds and rain.

The weather department continues to monitor the situation closely, and citizens are encouraged to stay informed about weather updates. The early arrival of the monsoon could impact agriculture and other sectors across the state, so it is important to be prepared for the heavy rains ahead.
