The weather department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall across several districts in Gujarat until June 29. According to A.K. Das, the director of the weather department, rain is expected during the Puri Rath Yatra on June 27. Today, Ahmedabad is under a yellow alert for light rain, with predictions of moderate rainfall in the coming week. Heavy rains are forecasted for today, with thunderstorms expected over the next four days. Districts like Dahod, Vadodara, Navsari, Surat, Chhota Udaipur, Gir Somnath, and Dwarka are expected to experience heavy rainfall, with an orange alert issued.
From June 24 to 27, heavy rain is anticipated. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea until June 24 and again from June 25 to 29 due to adverse weather conditions. The state is likely to receive rainfall due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over Saurashtra and Kutch.
Today, on June 24, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Botad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Anand, Panchmahal, Kheda, Mahisagar, Aravalli, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad districts.
On June 25, yellow alerts will be in effect for Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Narmada, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Dahod, and Chhota Udaipur. On June 26, the alert extends to Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Tapi, Narmada, Chhota Udaipur, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Aravalli, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath.
On June 27, heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in Kutch, Morbi, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Navsari, Dang, Tapi, Narmada, Chhota Udaipur, Panchmahal, and Dahod. From June 28 to 29, a yellow alert has been announced for most parts of the state due to expected heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder.
The weather department urges citizens to stay updated and take necessary precautions during this rainy period. With two active weather systems, the chance of heavy downpours remains high. It is essential for residents, especially fishermen, to heed warnings and safety advisories during this time.
