The weather department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Gujarat for the next six days. This comes as the state has already experienced significant rain over the last week, particularly in Saurashtra, South, and Central Gujarat. The heavy rainfall has prompted the issuance of yellow and orange alerts across various districts.
On June 27, the weather department issued an orange alert for districts including Kutch, Rajkot, Junagadh, Navsari, and Valsad, indicating the likelihood of heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, a yellow alert was issued for other districts such as Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Morbi, Surendranagar, Botad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Surat, Tapi, Dangs, Narmada, Chhota Udaipur, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mehsana, and Gandhinagar.
From June 29 to July 1, intense rainfall is expected in Kutch, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Narmada, Chhota Udaipur, Tapi, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Mahisagar, Dahod, and Surat. Surat also faced heavy rains, with significant water accumulation on roads, making travel challenging. In Ahmedabad, the city experienced heavy rainfall that flooded many areas, leaving them submerged.
These weather conditions are typical during the monsoon season, which sees heavy rainfalls across different states in India. The weather department has advised residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions. They have also issued warnings for fishermen, advising them not to venture into the sea due to rough weather conditions.
In light of these warnings, it is essential for the public to stay informed and prepared for the potential impacts of heavy rainfall. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary. The coming days will be crucial for residents in the affected areas, and they are encouraged to heed all weather alerts and take precautions to ensure their safety.
