Heavy Rainfall Forecasted in Gujarat Until July 1

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Gujarat. This forecast is valid until July 1. The announcement comes as rain intensifies across various regions of the state. Regions including Saurashtra, South Gujarat, and Central Gujarat are experiencing significant rainfall.

Director A.K. Das from the IMD stated that districts such as Surat, Bharuch, Valsad, Navsari, and Dangs are likely to witness very heavy rainfall. The forecast also includes the possibility of heavy rains in Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. In Central Gujarat, Dahod and Panchmahal are expected to receive substantial rainfall, as well as Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath.

On Thursday, June 26, the IMD issued an orange alert for Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, and Chhota Udaipur districts due to the risk of very heavy rainfall. A yellow alert was announced for Amreli, Bhavnagar, Sabarkantha, Narmada, Panchmahal, Navsari, and Valsad due to the forecast of heavy rains.

From June 27 to June 29, districts including Kutch, Morbi, Devbhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Patan, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Navsari, Valsad, Gandhinagar, and Panchmahal are predicted to receive heavy rainfall.

On June 30, alerts were issued for heavy rainfall in Valsad, Navsari, Tapi, Dangs, Banaskantha, Amreli, and Bhavnagar. On July 1, heavy rain alerts will be in place for Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dangs, Valsad, Bhavnagar, and Amreli.

Residents are advised to stay alert and prepare for potential flooding and other weather-related issues. It is essential to stay updated with local weather reports and heed any warnings issued by authorities. The IMD encourages everyone to stay safe during this period of intense weather conditions.
