In the last 24 hours, Surat district in Gujarat has experienced heavy rainfall. Bardoli, a town in the district, recorded around 5 inches of rain. This downpour has caused waterlogging in many areas, including more than 70 houses in the Manasarovar Society of the Dhmandot village. The rain in Surat city has been significant, with reports indicating that the city received the highest rainfall in the state at 13 inches. The average rainfall across Surat district was about 6 inches. Kamrej area recorded 11 inches, while Palsana received around 8 inches. Other areas also experienced substantial rain. In the last day, Bardoli and Tilakwada in Narmada district received over 6 inches of rain. Additionally, areas like Dolvan in Tapi, Borsad in Anand, and Olpad in Surat saw about 5 inches of rain as well. In total, 18 talukas across the state received more than 2 inches, while 40 talukas recorded over 1 inch. Overall, rain was reported in 170 talukas across 31 districts in Gujarat. As of June 24, 2025, the state has seen over 21% of the seasonal average rainfall. This rainfall has been beneficial for the agricultural lands and local water sources, providing relief after a dry spell. However, the authorities are monitoring the situation closely due to the risk of flooding in low-lying areas. Emergency services are on standby to assist residents affected by the rain.
