The Kanya Kelavani Festival and School Admission 2025 is an important event in Gujarat aimed at encouraging education among children. On the third day of this festival, the Chief Secretary of the Forest and Environment Department, Sanjeev Kumar, visited Vavol Primary School in Gandhinagar. He distributed educational kits to children entering school, marking a significant step in their educational journey.
During the event, Sanjeev Kumar emphasised the crucial role of primary education in shaping a child’s career. He noted that since 2003, the initiative started by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi ensures that no child is deprived of education. This tradition is now being carried forward by current Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
The objective of the Mission School of Excellence program is to provide high-quality education to students in government schools. This initiative will help improve the educational standards in the state.
Sanjeev Kumar also encouraged the students to aspire for higher education and success in national examinations. He reminded them that the foundation they build in primary school will guide them in their future careers.
The event saw the honouring of bright students for their excellent performances at various levels. After the ceremony, Kumar inspected the classrooms and planted trees in the schoolyard.
Joining him were local leaders and school officials, including Premalsinh Gol, former Deputy Mayor of Gandhinagar, and trustees from the Vavol Progressive Mandal. This gathering highlighted the community’s commitment to supporting education.
The Kanya Kelavani Festival was introduced to promote education for girls and reduce dropout rates. The program aims to increase the enrollment rate of children, especially girls, in schools across Gujarat. Since its inception, the enrollment rate for standard 1 has reached over 99%.
In recent years, the state government has implemented various measures to ensure that every child receives an education. This includes the introduction of the Child Tracking System, which helps identify eligible children for school admission based on health data and parental contact information.
In the upcoming days of the festival, more activities are planned to ensure that over 8.73 lakh children across the state are enrolled in schools. The government also aims to facilitate admission for over 10.56 lakh students from standard 8 to 9 and about 6.50 lakh from standard 10 to 11.
Overall, the Kanya Kelavani Festival and School Admission 2025 continues to be a vital initiative in Gujarat, working towards a future where every child has the opportunity to learn and succeed in life. The commitment of the local government and community leaders is crucial in making this vision a reality.
