In a significant decision, the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has cancelled the exam for the Deputy Agriculture Director Class-1. Additionally, the exam for the Assistant Agriculture Director Class-2 has been postponed. This decision comes after candidates raised concerns about the exam questions. They claimed that most questions were taken from only one book, limiting the opportunities for all candidates.
The controversy started after the Deputy Agriculture Director exam held on May 27, 2025. Candidates submitted complaints on May 28, stating that a majority of the questions were from ‘Fundamentals of Agriculture Volume-1’ and ‘Fundamentals of Agriculture Volume-2’. Upon investigating these claims, GPSC found them to be valid.
To ensure fairness, GPSC decided to cancel the Class-1 exam. They want to give all candidates equal chances, regardless of their study materials. Furthermore, the Assistant Agriculture Director Class-2 exam, scheduled for May 31, 2025, will also be postponed. This is due to the similar syllabus, which would also affect the fairness of this exam.
The GPSC announced that both exams will now be conducted together on August 28, 2025. Candidates who applied for both positions will have their scores considered for both exams. This decision aims to create a level playing field for all candidates.
The cancellation and postponement reflect GPSC’s commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process. Candidates have welcomed the decision, believing it will lead to a more equitable examination environment.
In conclusion, the GPSC is taking steps to ensure that all candidates are given equal opportunities in their exams. This decision will help maintain the integrity of the examination process. Candidates are now looking forward to the new exam date, hoping for a better experience in August. They are advised to prepare thoroughly using diverse study materials to improve their chances of success in the upcoming exams.
