In Kheda district, an industrial job fair and self-employment camp took place at the Dharamsinh Desai University in Nadiad. The district employment office organized this event. Twenty employers interviewed candidates looking for jobs. A total of 464 young people were selected for job opportunities. They received employment letters from prominent guests at the event, encouraging them to pursue their careers.
Pankajbhai Desai, a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, stated that the central and state governments have launched various skill development programs. The aim is to prepare capable and empowered youth. He mentioned that around 15,112 job seekers and 518 employers have registered on the employment portal launched by the state government.
In the financial year 2024-25, 194 employers are expected to provide jobs to 2,218 young men and women, helping them become self-reliant. The district has successfully organized 24 self-employment camps at both the rural and district levels. These camps inform young people about various employment-oriented programs and schemes. Additionally, young participants are offered free training in the armed forces along with living and food facilities, which includes a stipend of ₹3,000.
Last year, about 30 young individuals benefited from this program and committed to serve in the military. Desai also urged youth to take advantage of schemes like the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme, the Chief Minister’s Apprenticeship Scheme, student loans, and various ITI courses. He called on them to work towards becoming self-reliant and contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. He especially encouraged students of grades 10 and 12 to pursue higher education.
Candidates present at the program expressed their happiness regarding the jobs they received. For instance, Miloni Ben Bhatt from Nadiad got a junior clerk job (contract-based), and Mihir Solanki secured a position as a chemist. They urged other young people to benefit from the job fair. Employment officer Minakshiben Chauhan welcomed all attendees and spoke about the significance of the job fair.
The event saw the presence of several notable figures, including Pankajbhai Desai, Municipal Commissioner G.H. Solanki, District Development Officer Jayant Kishore, District BJP President Nayanaben Patel, General Manager of the District Industry Centre Sajeda Sabasra, Employment Officer Minakshiben Chauhan, Training and Placement Officer Dr. S.S. Khandewal, and numerous job seekers. In total, 591 job aspirants attended the fair, showcasing the growing interest in employment opportunities in Kheda district.
This initiative is part of the district administration’s efforts to enhance employment opportunities for the youth. The job fair not only connects job seekers with employers but also promotes skill development and self-employment. It aims to empower the youth, making them more employable and self-sufficient in today’s competitive job market.
