Khodal Dham Youth Premier League Concludes with Thrilling Final

The Khodal Dham Youth Premier League (KYPL) has successfully concluded with an exciting final match that saw Shreeji Eleven crowned as champions. The tournament, organised by the Khodal Dham Youth Committee, took place from May 10 to May 18 at the SG Cricket Club Ground in Pal village, near Rajkot. The aim was to strengthen community ties and enhance the skills of young players in Gujarat. A total of 32 teams participated, competing in 31 matches over nine days.

The final match was held on May 18, following two semi-finals on May 17. Shreeji Eleven faced Vishal Warriors in a nail-biting finish. Vishal Warriors batted first, scoring 119 runs in 14 overs. Shreeji Eleven’s batting started poorly; they lost six wickets with little to show. However, a strong partnership between Gourang Patel and Nikunj Vadodariya turned the game around. They led Shreeji Eleven to victory, scoring the winning run on the final ball. Nikunj Vadodariya’s impressive performance earned him the Man of the Match award, with figures of 4 wickets and 21 runs.

The champions were awarded a trophy and a cash prize of ₹51,000, which they generously donated to the Khodal Dham Cancer Hospital and Research Institute. This noble gesture was praised by the community and the trustees of the Khodal Dham Trust. The runners-up, Vishal Warriors, received a trophy and ₹21,000.

Award presentations took place with notable guests, including local MLA Udaybhai Kangad and Rajkot Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Narendra Singh Jadeja, who attended to encourage the players. The tournament’s success was attributed to the hard work and dedication of the Khodal Dham Youth Committee members.

In addition to the team awards, individual recognitions were given. Urvish Thumran from Shreeji Eleven received the Player of the Tournament title for taking nine wickets throughout the tournament. Vishal Warriors’ captain Neelam Vamaja was awarded Best Batter for scoring 136 runs at a strike rate of 215. Kishan Ramani from Vishal Warriors bagged the Best Bowler award for his nine wickets.

The KYPL not only provided thrilling cricket action but also fostered a sense of community and teamwork among the youth. The event highlighted the importance of sports in building relationships and encouraging social responsibility. The Khodal Dham Trust and its youth committee aim to continue promoting such events to uplift the community and empower the younger generation.
