In Ahmedabad, Kotak Securities has launched a new educational platform called Kotak Stockshaala. This platform is free and offers learning resources for investors and traders across India. It aims to provide capital market education in a simple and engaging way. Kotak Stockshaala can be accessed through the Kotak Neo App.
The platform offers two main types of courses. First, there are video-based courses. These include three structured courses featuring short chapters that cover basic and advanced concepts in finance. Currently, these courses are available in Hinglish, a mix of Hindi and English. English versions are expected to be launched soon.
Second, there are text-based courses. These courses consist of five comprehensive modules divided into over 200 chapters. They are available in both English and Hindi, with plans to introduce more regional languages in the future.
According to reports, there are over 4.92 crore active demat accounts in India as of March 2025. This shows a growing need for accessible and practical learning solutions. Kotak Stockshaala aims to meet this demand by providing high-quality content focused on financial literacy and capital markets.
Shripal Shah, MD and CEO of Kotak Securities, stated, “At Kotak Securities, we believe that financial empowerment begins with knowledge.” He emphasized that the platform is designed to make investing education available to every Indian, regardless of their background or experience. The aim is to nurture confident investors by breaking down complex concepts into easy lessons that anyone can understand.
The courses on Kotak Stockshaala are designed for all levels of investors. Beginners can find structured content that helps them build a strong foundation. For seasoned traders, advanced modules will be created to help refine their strategies and keep them ahead of market trends.
Ashish Nanda, President and Chief Digital Business Officer of Kotak Securities, highlighted the importance of continuous learning. He noted, “In today’s dynamic financial landscape, continuous learning is not just an advantage—it’s a necessity.” The firm plans to expand the platform to include ten courses by the end of the year.
The courses cover a wide range of topics. They include how stocks and exchanges operate, the functions of IPOs and mutual funds, and market trends. Investors can learn to analyze stock prices, understand financial statements, and use trading strategies effectively.
