Land Allocated for School and Sports Ground in Manekpura Village of Disa Taluka

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has made an important decision for development in Manekpura village, located in the border district of Banaskantha, Disa Taluka. The Chief Minister has approved the allocation of 10,000 square meters of land for the construction of a government secondary school and a sports ground within survey number 390.

With this allocation, a modern secondary school will be built, providing quality education to students in the area. The people of the village are happy with this decision and have expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister.

Mukeshbhai Prajapati, the principal of the secondary school, stated that the population of Manekpura village is over 3,000. The land allocation request for the construction of the government secondary school was made in 2024. Currently, there are 116 students studying in grades 9 and 10. The new school will have modern facilities and will serve not only the children of Manekpura but also those from Lunpur, Santoshi Goliya, and Thakorwas-Khardoshan villages, allowing them to study locally without needing to travel to the city.

The Chief Minister’s positive approach towards education will ensure the development of a campus equipped with modern amenities, including a computer lab, science laboratory, library, and sports fields. This aligns with the motto “Ramshe Gujarat – Jitse Gujarat” which aims to promote sports among students.

Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, many decisive development projects in education and health sectors are underway in the state. With initiatives such as new classrooms, smart classrooms, recruitment of trained teachers, and scholarship programs, students are gaining access to quality and modern education.

Disa is an important city in the Banaskantha district of North Gujarat. It is strategically located on the Abu Road-Palanpur highway and is a hub for trade and agriculture in the surrounding areas. Disa has a rich history and was once known as “Devigam” before its name changed over time. The city experiences extreme temperatures, with scorching heat in summer and chilly conditions in winter.

Disa is also known as the ‘City of Potatoes’ due to its high potato yields, making it a significant market for potato trade. The local economy is supported by agro-industries, cold storage, and transportation services. Educational institutions are also thriving, with schools and colleges offering courses in Gujarati, English, CBSE, and ICSE mediums.

The allocation of land for the new school is expected to enhance educational opportunities in the region, promoting a better future for the local youth. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to improve education and health services in Gujarat, ensuring that every child has access to quality education and a chance to excel.
