The ‘Ved Manjushah’ is a major new publication that brings together the ancient wisdom of the Vedas in a modern format. Launched by the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, this monumental work is published by Nita Prakashan and consists of 17 volumes containing 20,348 verses from the Vedas. The unique feature of this collection is that it provides translations of the verses in Sanskrit, Hindi, and English. This makes it easier for people to read and understand the Vedas without facing any language barriers.
The launch event took place at the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar and was attended by notable figures including retired Professor Dr. Puran Chand Tandon from Delhi University and Rakesh Gupta from Nita Prakashan. Governor Acharya Devvrat emphasized the importance of the Vedas, stating that every person born on Indian soil should be familiar with this divine knowledge. He mentioned that the Vedas are timeless scriptures that do not have a single author. Instead, they represent the eternal wisdom that humanity has received from the divine.
During the launch, Governor Devvrat expressed his concern that many people have forgotten the significance of the Vedas. He recalled the efforts of the great reformer Swami Dayanand Saraswati, who worked tirelessly to revive Vedic teachings in the past. If it weren’t for his work, he said, the Vedas would have remained buried under dust for centuries.
The Governor praised Nita Prakashan for their remarkable work in publishing ‘Ved Manjushah’. He noted that the late Radheshyam Gupta, the founder of Nita Prakashan, had a vision of spreading this invaluable knowledge among the masses. His dream has now been realized with this publication, which will serve as a blessing for future generations.
Dr. Puran Chand Tandon, who translated the Vedas into Hindi, shared that the project took nearly 18 years to complete. He expressed pride in having contributed something meaningful to Indian culture and education. Tandon highlighted that the financial costs were secondary to the fulfillment of bringing this knowledge to the people.
The Governor also acknowledged Tandon’s immense contribution to the project, calling him a living encyclopedia of knowledge regarding Vedic literature. He expressed his hope that ‘Ved Manjushah’ would reach audiences worldwide, helping people understand and appreciate India’s rich cultural heritage.
The event concluded with the Governor honouring Rakesh Gupta and Dr. Tandon for their efforts. He stated that the publication should not only spread throughout India but also internationally, so that people from other countries could gain insight into India’s glorious culture and traditions.
In summary, ‘Ved Manjushah’ is not just a book; it is a gateway to the eternal wisdom of the Vedas. It aims to educate people about the significance of these ancient texts and encourage a deeper understanding of Indian culture and philosophy.
