In the Vadodara region of Gujarat, there is growing concern over leopard attacks. Recently, an elderly man in the village of Shobhawadla was attacked by a leopard while he was sleeping in his thatched house. This incident has raised alarms among local residents, especially since a similar attack occurred just eight days prior in the village of Liliya, where a farmer was also attacked by a leopard.
The wild leopard has become a source of terror for those living in the area. Many residents are frightened and feel unsafe due to the recent incidents. Forest officials have been trying to catch the leopards responsible for these attacks, but they have not had much success. In Liliya, eight traps were set to capture the leopard, and additional traps have now been placed in Shobhawadla, but there are still no results.
The situation is worrying, particularly for farmers, who are now living in fear. The forest department is under pressure as the number of attacks increases. In the early hours of the night, at around 2:30 AM, the leopard entered a house in Shobhawadla. The owner was startled awake and managed to escape. However, at around 4:30 AM, an elderly woman named Diwali Ben Vastabhai Vaghela was sleeping with her door open when the leopard attacked.
The leopard tried to catch her by the head, causing injuries to Diwali Ben. Thankfully, she managed to shout, which scared the leopard away. She was then taken to the hospital for treatment. Forest teams were alerted and quickly arrived on the scene. They set up several traps in different locations in an attempt to capture the leopard.
This rising fear of leopard attacks comes alongside concerns about lion attacks in the Amreli district. The wildlife situation in Gujarat is becoming increasingly alarming. As local communities face threats from wildlife, they are calling for more action to protect themselves and prevent future incidents.
The forest department must act urgently to ensure the safety of residents. The community is hopeful that the traps will succeed in catching the leopards soon. Until then, people are advised to stay alert and take precautions to protect themselves from potential wildlife attacks. It is essential for the authorities to find a solution that ensures the safety of both the residents and the wildlife in the region.
