In a shocking incident, a woman was attacked by a leopard while she was working in her field in Mandali village, located in the Limkheda taluka of Gujarat. The attack happened in the evening when the woman, identified as Kankuben Gamirbhai Bariya, was busy collecting dried grass known as ‘mudha’. Suddenly, a leopard emerged from the nearby jungle and launched an attack on her. The leopard inflicted serious injuries to her head and face before fleeing back into the forest.
After the attack, Kankuben managed to call for help. Emergency services were alerted, and she was quickly taken to the local government hospital in Limkheda for initial treatment. However, due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to the civil hospital in Godhra for further medical care. Her condition remains serious, and she is being closely monitored by medical staff.
Mandali village is situated in the northern part of Gujarat, within the Mehsana district. The local population primarily relies on agriculture, farm labour, and animal husbandry for their livelihood. They grow crops such as wheat, cumin, millet, cotton, and various vegetables in the fertile lands of the region.
