Love Turns Violent in Madhavas Village: A Shocking Incident

In Madhavas village, located in the Kalol region of Gujarat, a shocking incident has come to light involving a young man and his lover attacking his wife. This young man, who is the son of a community leader, has been married for 16 years. However, for the last four years, he has been involved in a relationship with a woman who is divorced and lives with her son in Kalol. The man’s wife and their 13-year-old daughter have been living with her family during this time.

The situation escalated when the young man became infatuated with his lover and began to mistreat his wife. Reports indicate that he physically abused her over the last four years. The young man works at a local hospital, Sanjivani Hospital, located on Derol Station Road.

The wife, feeling helpless, informed her family about the abuse. Consequently, social leaders from the community held three meetings to resolve the issue. Written agreements were made, but shortly thereafter, the couple went into hiding for 21 days. This prompted the wife to file a complaint at the Kalol police station.

On February 10, 2025, after the couple returned, the wife filed another complaint due to repeated violence. The police arrested the couple but later released them on bail. Recently, both were caught at a rented house in Ramkrupa Society, located on Derol Station Road. The situation turned violent when both attackers physically assaulted the wife, and the lover also made derogatory comments regarding her.

As a result of the attack, the wife was taken to a referral hospital for treatment, where her condition was reported as critical. Following this incident, she filed a fresh complaint at the Kalol police station. The previous complaints from February 10, 2025, were also revoked, leading to a fine of 20,000 rupees being paid at the State Bank of India.

The husband has stated that he wishes to continue his life with his lover, which has led the wife to seek help from the women’s police station in Godhra and legal assistance. Counselling has also been arranged for her. Now, the question remains about the next steps to be taken against the couple accused of these violent acts.

Madhavas village, located in the Panchmahal district of Gujarat, is known for its agriculture, primarily growing maize, tuvar, and various vegetables. The village is equipped with basic facilities like a primary school, a panchayat office, and a dairy service, making it a vital part of the region’s community. However, incidents like this highlight serious issues within the community that need addressing to protect vulnerable individuals from domestic violence and abuse.
