In a significant operation, the State Monitoring Cell (SMC) team of Mehsana police arrested three individuals for selling MD drugs near the Shobhasan Bridge. The operation took place after receiving a tip-off. The arrested suspects include Sameser Khan Luhani, Javed Khan Qureshi, and Aslam Saiyed. The police have also declared two unknown individuals wanted for allegedly sending drugs from Rajasthan. During the raid, the police seized 98.33 grams of MD drugs valued at approximately ₹9,83,330. Additionally, they confiscated three mobile phones worth ₹15,000, ₹1,580 in cash, and a vehicle valued at ₹50,000. The total value of the seized items amounts to ₹10,49,880. A case has been registered with the local police, and further investigation is underway.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the police to combat drug trafficking in the region. In a separate incident, the Surat Crime Branch arrested three individuals for selling MD drugs in the Bhathena area. The suspects, identified as Jameel (alias Jungle), Taufiq Patel, and Rehan Khan, were caught with various items, including 35 insulin syringes and 12.540 grams of MD drugs valued at ₹1,25,400. The police also recovered ₹60,500 in cash and several mobile phones. The total value of the confiscated items is around ₹2,61,360.

These arrests come amid a larger crackdown on drug trafficking in Gujarat. The police received information regarding the suspects selling drugs in the area and conducted a raid on their location. During the investigation, it was revealed that Jameel has a long history of drug-related offenses, with multiple cases registered against him in different police stations, including snatching and violations of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act.

The authorities are focusing on dismantling drug networks and tracing the sources of the drugs. They are investigating how these individuals obtained the drugs and the extent of their distribution. The police aim to reach the mastermind behind the operations and are committed to making Gujarat a safer place by tackling the drug menace.

In another major development, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) recently uncovered a factory in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, that manufactured MD drugs. During the raid, authorities seized raw materials and drugs worth ₹1814 crores. Gujarat’s Home Minister, Harsh Sanghvi, announced the operation on social media, praising the enforcement agencies for their dedication to combating drug trafficking and ensuring public health and safety.

The ongoing efforts by law enforcement not only aim to arrest drug dealers but also to create awareness about the dangers of drug abuse in society. Community support is vital in these initiatives, and the police encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking.

As Gujarat continues to face challenges related to drug abuse and trafficking, these recent operations signal a strong commitment from the police to address the issue head-on. The authorities are hopeful that with continued vigilance and community cooperation, they can significantly reduce drug-related crimes and improve public safety in the state.
