Major Seizure of Foreign Liquor in Himatnagar

The Himatnagar rural police have made a significant drug bust on the Himatnagar bypass road. They seized foreign liquor valued at over ₹50 lakh from a truck. The police received a tip-off that a truck loaded with foreign liquor was heading from Rajasthan to Gandhinagar. Based on this information, they set up a watch near Katwad Patiya.

When the truck, with Haryana registration number HR.55.W.6968, arrived, police stopped it for inspection. They discovered 378 boxes of foreign liquor hidden among paper rolls. In total, there were 6,212 bottles of liquor, valued at ₹50,33,799. The police also seized the truck, worth ₹10 lakh, paper rolls valued at ₹1,47,609, and a mobile phone valued at ₹3,000. The total value of the seized items amounts to ₹61,84,408.

The truck driver, 38-year-old Govindsinh Kanesinh Rawat, was arrested. He is a resident of Pachhan Pura village in Raipur taluka, Pali district of Rajasthan. A case has been registered under the Prohibition Act at Himatnagar rural police station. The investigation is ongoing under the leadership of Police Inspector H.R. Herabhai.
