On May 29, 2025, a meeting of the Language Implementation Committee was organized under the leadership of Mr. Sudhir Kumar Sharma, the Divisional Railway Manager of Ahmedabad. This significant event took place at the Ahmedabad division of the Western Railway. During the meeting, Mr. Sharma unveiled the 51st issue of the e-magazine ‘Rajbhasha Ashram Saurabh’.
The Language Department presented an exciting PowerPoint on the life of poet Rabindranath Tagore. This was followed by a question-and-answer session where the winning officials and employees were awarded prizes. As is customary every quarter, officials excelling in Hindi were recognised under the special award scheme ‘Rajbhasha Ratna’ by the Divisional Railway Manager.
Mr. Sharma praised the Language Department for successfully organizing the meeting and commended the content of the division’s magazine. He urged railway employees and their families to develop an interest in Hindi literature. To facilitate this, he suggested uploading the available books in the Hindi library to the division’s website. He also recommended purchasing books and magazines based on readers’ suggestions. Additionally, he instructed the conduct of workshops on the subject of Hindi in remote areas.
Mr. Lokesh Kumar, the Deputy Chairman and Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), emphasized the need for attention to the various matters highlighted by the Divisional Railway Manager. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Kumar expressed gratitude to all present. The heads of all departments in the Ahmedabad division attended and participated in the event.
The meeting marked a significant step in promoting the use of Hindi within the railway division. The committee’s efforts aim to improve communication and understanding among employees and enhance the overall work environment. The initiative also focuses on cultural enrichment through literature and language.
