The University of Hemchandracharya North Gujarat held its first Board of Deans meeting recently. This meeting focused on the future educational development plan of the university. The meeting was chaired by Dean Dr. S. A. Bhatt of the Science Department, with Registrar and Member Secretary Dr. Rohit Desai in attendance.
During this meeting, all deans were welcomed with a book titled ‘Punyabhumi Bharat’ presented by Registrar Dr. Rohit N. Desai. The agenda included discussions about the National Education Policy and the need to introduce new courses in response to current demands.
The deans expressed important suggestions for educational growth. They discussed what new courses would be necessary for the university’s five-year institutional development plan. The suggestions made will be presented in the next Board of Deans meeting for further consideration.
One significant proposal was to start a two-year Master of Public Health (MPH) course. Additionally, there was a recommendation to establish a Master of Rural Studies (MRS) programme at the Vadali campus. The deans also discussed the possibility of introducing new courses in the Physical Education Department.
The aim of these discussions is to ensure that the university stays relevant and meets the educational needs of its students. The Board of Deans is committed to enhancing the academic offerings at the university to provide better educational opportunities.
