New COVID-19 Cases Rise in Gujarat Cities

In recent days, the number of COVID-19 cases has increased in Gujarat, causing concern among citizens. Ahmedabad has reported 17 new cases in one day, raising the total number of active cases to 76. This spike in cases has reminded many of the difficult times faced in 2020 and 2021. Health officials are taking these developments seriously as the state sees a worrying trend in infections.

Over the past month, Ahmedabad has seen a total of 89 confirmed cases, with 13 patients recovering. The rise in active cases from just 31 on the 23rd of the month to 76 now is alarming. The new cases are coming from various areas, particularly in the eastern and western parts of the city.

One notable case was reported from the boys’ hostel of LG Hospital, which adds to the concern as a previous case had been documented in a girls’ hostel. Areas like Jodhpur, Bodakdev, Paldi, and Vasna are seeing a significant number of cases. Within the active cases, Bodakdev has 15 patients, while Jodhpur has 11.

In response to the rising numbers, the state government and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation are taking preventive measures. Isolation wards are being set up to manage the growing number of patients.

Other cities in Gujarat are also experiencing new cases. In Jamnagar, all four members of a family who traveled abroad have tested positive and are currently in isolation. Additionally, Rajkot has reported four new cases in the last three days, and Surat has also confirmed one new case.

Given the increasing COVID-19 cases, the government is urging citizens to remain cautious. The health department has instructed all municipalities to ensure that patients receive prompt care and that resources are available for treatment.

As the situation develops, it is crucial for everyone to stay informed and follow health guidelines to help reduce the spread of the virus. Wearing masks, maintaining social distance, and getting vaccinated are essential steps that citizens can take to protect themselves and others in their communities.
