Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat, has taken a significant step towards improving public health services. A new Health Review Centre is set to open on June 5, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Health Minister Rishikesh Patel. This centre aims to provide comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of health services and programmes under one roof.

One of the main features of the centre is the Health Helpline Number 104. This helpline will provide citizens with information about health schemes and offer advice and consultations related to health issues. The PMJAY helpline will also be operational at this new facility.
The Health Review Centre will serve multiple purposes. It will monitor the implementation of health programmes effectively by integrating databases into a single dashboard. This will help district officials and staff receive timely feedback to quickly address any issues in health service delivery.
Additionally, the centre will have state-of-the-art audiovisual facilities. It will include a conference room for video calls and seating arrangements for on-duty officials. Up to 100 trained call-takers will be available to provide consultations and guidance on various health services.
The centre will also have a CAD (Call Administration Dashboard) application to manage call recording and data securely. This will ensure that information is systematically stored for quality control and training.
Furthermore, the centre aims to facilitate two-way communication through video conferencing with district health officials. It will also monitor and provide feedback on various health programmes implemented at both state and district levels.
The Health Review Centre will focus on several key health services, including maternal health for pregnant women with conditions like sickle cell anaemia, child health evaluations, and treatment for high-risk tuberculosis patients. It will also assess the universal vaccination programme for children and mothers, collecting feedback through the helplines for those enrolled in the PMJAY scheme.
The helpline will also cater to non-emergency health services, providing information about health schemes, advice on illnesses, and assistance with complaints related to health services.
The advantages of the Health Review Centre include better integration of health programmes, a digital database for monitoring, and direct contact with beneficiaries in remote areas. This initiative is expected to improve the quality and efficiency of health services across the state.
