A new high-tech library was launched in Patan for the daughters of the Thakor community. The opening ceremony took place on Sunday and was attended by community leaders, saints, and donors. This library can accommodate 47 girls at once, providing them with modern reading facilities. To enter the library, each girl must use a fingerprint scan, ensuring security. Parents will receive a mobile message when their daughter enters or exits the library.
The library will be open from 8 AM to 6 PM. It was built with donations from community members and aims to empower girls through education. Ganiben Thakor, an MP from Banaskantha, stressed the importance of creating temples of knowledge instead of only donating to places of worship. She urged the community to eliminate superstitions and social evils.
Ganiben hopes that the girls will use the library for free to advance their studies and bring pride to their families and community. The event also featured actor Vikram Thakor, who praised the initiative and encouraged the community to support educational efforts.
A student named Hetal Thakor expressed her gratitude, saying there were no prior arrangements for studying in their community. She is excited about the new library, believing it will help girls prepare for exams and shine in their endeavors.
Various political and social leaders also shared encouraging messages during the opening. Donors have committed to supporting the library’s operations, ensuring it serves its purpose of education and empowerment for the Thakor community girls.
