Ahmedabad, a bustling city in Gujarat, has seen changes to train schedules as part of an effort by Western Railway. The aim is to enhance passenger convenience and improve punctuality. Starting from January 1, 2025, several trains passing through Ahmedabad will have altered timings. These changes will allow many trains to arrive earlier than their current schedules, reducing travel time by up to 65 minutes.
The Western Railway has decided to increase the speed of 95 trains in the Ahmedabad division. As a result, passengers can expect to save time on their journeys. For instance, train number 12267, the Mumbai-Hapa Duronto Express, will now arrive in Ahmedabad at 04:45 instead of 04:50. This alteration also applies to other trains, such as the Mumbai Central-Okha Saurashtra Mail and the Muzaffarpur-Porbandar Express.
In total, 48 trains will see their travel times reduced, while 262 trains will have their schedules adjusted to arrive at various stations earlier than before. This means that passengers can plan their journeys more effectively.
The changes affect many key stations, including Palanpur, Mehsana, and Gandhinagar. For example, the Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Rajkot Express will now leave Palanpur at 02:20 instead of 02:50. Similarly, the Dehradun-Okha Uttaranchal Express will see its arrival time at Mehsana change from 03:57 to 03:24.
Passengers are encouraged to check the updated timetables to ensure they are aware of their train schedules. They can do this by visiting the official Indian Railways website. The enhancements aim to support the growing needs of commuters and ensure efficient rail travel in the region.
Ahmedabad railway station is a key hub in Gujarat, connecting the city to major destinations across India. The station has 12 platforms and is continuously upgrading its facilities to meet modern standards.
