North Gujarat Celebrates Pilot Day in Palanpur

Today, North Gujarat celebrated Pilot Day in Palanpur, marking a special occasion for emergency services. The event was led by District Collector Mihir Patel and recognized the hard work of 108 emergency service staff from various districts including Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, and Ahmedabad. During the celebration, the EM CARE and VET CARE books were launched, highlighting the importance of these services.

Collector Patel praised the 108 service, noting an improvement in response time from 14.47 to 14.34 minutes. He emphasized that 108 is not just a job but a service to humanity, acting as a symbol of trust. The staff were congratulated for their dedication and commitment to emergency response.

Jashwant Prajapati, an officer of the 108 service, explained that Pilot Day is celebrated on May 26 every year, along with Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Day on April 2. Both occasions underline the crucial nature of their work in providing timely assistance to people in need.

The event also recognized outstanding employees and officials for their exemplary work. Services like Kilkhilat, mobile veterinary units, health services, and more received awards for their commitment to round-the-clock service. Awards included the EM CARE Award, Honesty Award, and various academic and performance awards, recognizing excellence in multiple areas.

Pilot Day is celebrated across four zones in the state. In South Gujarat, it was held in Dang, in Saurashtra in Junagadh, and in Central Gujarat in Anand.

This celebration not only highlights the achievements of the emergency services but also serves as a reminder of the importance of quick and efficient responses in times of crisis. The dedication of the staff ensures that help is always available when it is needed the most.
