Palanpur Police Solve Six Burglary Cases, Arrest Two Suspects

The Palanpur police have made a significant breakthrough by solving six burglary cases that occurred in the city over the past two and a half months. Two suspects were arrested, and property worth Rs. 6,19,979 has been seized. This operation was conducted under the guidance of Banaskantha District Police Chief Akshayraj Makwana. The arrests come after a burglary on June 1, 2023, where jewellery worth Rs. 1.23 lakh was stolen from a house.

The police reviewed over 200 CCTV footages as part of their investigation. Based on tips, they apprehended two men riding a motorcycle (GJ-08-DQ-0497). The main suspect, Rameshbhai Chhatrabhai Rajaji Thakor, residing in New Lakshmipura, Palanpur, was found in possession of jewellery worth Rs. 4,21,979. During questioning, he confessed to committing six burglary cases in the eastern and western police station areas of Palanpur.

The police have recovered gold and silver jewellery, three mobile phones, and a motorcycle, amounting to a total of Rs. 6,19,979. This successful operation is a significant achievement for the Palanpur police, as they have now solved the six burglary cases that had been troubling the community.
