In a significant event, Parimal Nathwani has been re-elected as the President of the Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) during the 47th Annual General Meeting held in Ahmedabad. This re-election marks a four-year term for Nathwani, who is also a member of the Rajya Sabha.
The meeting saw the reappointment of key figures in the association. Moolraj Singh Chudasama was re-elected as the Honorary Secretary. Additionally, Pradip Singh Vaghela, Jignesh Patil, Arunsinh Rajput, and Gunvantbhai Delawala were re-elected as Vice Presidents. Sandeep Desai has taken the position of Vice President, replacing Hanif Jinwala, while Ankit Patel was appointed as the Honorary Treasurer.
During the AGM, the GSFA awarded outstanding performances by district associations, clubs, referees, players, and coaches. These awards were initiated in the style of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to encourage excellence in the sport.
In his address, Parimal Nathwani expressed gratitude to the members of GSFA for their continued support. He shared his vision of making football accessible and sustainable throughout Gujarat. “Our efforts are constantly guided by the vision of promoting football across the state,” Nathwani stated.
On his social media platform, Nathwani wrote, “I am thankful to the members of Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) for putting faith in me and re-electing me as the president of the association. Gujarat is witnessing gradual growth and development of football.”
He emphasised the commitment of GSFA to nurture talent and cultivate a sports temperament among the youth. The meeting paused for a moment of silence to pay tribute to the victims of a recent tragic airplane crash in Ahmedabad and former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Vijay Rupani.
The event highlighted the dedicated efforts of the GSFA to improve football standards in Gujarat. With a clear roadmap for the future, Nathwani and his team are poised to lead the association towards impactful developments in the coming years.
