Patan Municipality has reported a significant achievement in tax collection. In just three months, they have raised ₹13.19 crore from advance tax payments. This amount comes from around 38,000 property holders in the city. The advance tax payment scheme allowed property owners to pay their dues without any notice fee during this period.
The deadline for the collective tax acceptance was June 30. Property owners had until this date to make their payments. After this deadline, those who have not paid will need to pay their dues along with a notice fee.
Officials from the municipality, Lakshmanbhai Patel and Sanjaybhai Patel, confirmed this impressive collection. They mentioned that there are about 80,000 properties in the city. The advance tax payment scheme was introduced for the period from April to June 2025-2026. During these three months, property owners were encouraged to settle their tax without penalties.
Now, Patan Municipality will generate tax bills for those property owners who still owe taxes. These bills will include the notice fee. The municipality aims to improve tax compliance among property owners.
The revenue generated from these taxes plays a crucial role in the development of the city. It helps fund various municipal services and infrastructure projects. Ensuring that property owners pay their taxes on time is vital for the financial health of the municipality.
This initiative reflects the municipality’s commitment to enhancing tax collection processes. It also indicates a growing awareness among property owners about their tax responsibilities. The municipality hopes this trend continues in the future.
As the city grows, so does the need for effective tax collection. Municipal officials are optimistic about future collections. They encourage all property owners to be proactive in fulfilling their tax obligations.
The Patan Municipality plans to send notices to defaulters soon. They aim to inform them of their outstanding dues and the additional fees incurred. By doing so, they hope to recover the pending amounts and improve revenue collection.
In conclusion, Patan Municipality’s success in advance tax collection is commendable. It reflects not only the efficiency of the tax system but also the cooperation of the property owners. The municipality looks forward to enhancing its services and projects with the funds collected through these taxes.
