Kalol: The elections for 24 gram panchayats in Kalol Taluka were held today in a peaceful atmosphere. Out of 26 gram panchayats, 2 became samaras, allowing the elections to proceed smoothly. Voting took place in various villages, including Delol, Jhankharipura, Varwala, Zherna Muvada, Ambala, Khandewal, Nesda, Derol Station, Devpura, Dev Chotiya, Fatepuri, Alwa (Jhilya), Ghoda, Himatpura, Madhavas, and Barola.

A total of 28 polling stations were set up, with 7 identified as sensitive. The police arranged security under the supervision of the Halol DySP. This included 1 police inspector, 2 police sub-inspectors, 35 assistant sub-inspectors/head constables, and 52 home guards. Voters showed great enthusiasm and actively participated in the voting process.

Kalol Taluka is an important region in Gujarat’s Panchmahal district. The main town of the taluka is Kalol. The literacy rate here is 67.22%. The geographical coordinates of Kalol are 22.37° N latitude and 73.22° E longitude. Major rivers in the area include Goma, Karda, Ruparel, and Meshri. The main crops cultivated are maize, bajra, tuvar, and dangar.
