PM Modi Inaugurates Development Projects in Kutch

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kutch, Gujarat, to inaugurate development projects worth over ₹53,000 crore. The visit included a grand roadshow in Bhuj, attended by thousands of enthusiastic locals. During the event, Modi spoke about his deep connection to Kutch and its remarkable transformation over the years.

Modi highlighted the challenges Kutch faced, especially during times of natural disasters like earthquakes. He recalled how, after the earthquake, many believed Kutch would never recover. However, he confidently stated that Kutch has become a major centre for trade and business.

In his speech, he emphasised the importance of water management for farmers in the region. He noted that despite facing water scarcity in the past, Kutch’s farmers have shown resilience and strength. Modi stated, “Kutch has shown that adversity can be turned into opportunity. This land holds immense potential.”

The Prime Minister announced that today’s projects would not only benefit Kutch but would also set an example for the entire state. He mentioned that at one time, development projects worth ₹50,000 crore were rare in Gujarat, but now, Kutch is leading the way.

Modi pointed out that Kutch is becoming a hub for green hydrogen. He stated that in the future, vehicles and streetlights will run on green hydrogen. He praised the Kandla port for being one of India’s key green hydrogen projects, and acknowledged Kutch’s role in solar energy with some of the largest solar projects in the world.

Reflecting on the past, Modi said, “At one time, people wondered what Kutch was, just a desert. But I have always believed that this region is the pride of Gujarat.”

He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that citizens have access to electricity and that their bills remain affordable. Referring to the ‘Surya Ghar’ scheme, he mentioned that many beneficiaries have already experienced its advantages.

In a strong political message, Modi addressed issues of terrorism and national security. He highlighted India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and assured that any threats to the nation would be dealt with decisively. He spoke about the recent military operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, underscoring the importance of national unity and security.

As Modi concluded his address, he expressed pride in Kutch’s achievements and its potential for future growth. He encouraged the people of Kutch to continue supporting development initiatives that would lead to prosperity and progress for the region.
