PM Modi to Visit Gujarat for Major Development Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on May 26 and 27. His first stop will be in Dahod, where he will dedicate a locomotive manufacturing plant to the nation. This event is set for around 11:15 AM. The plant will produce electric locomotives, contributing to local needs and export. After this, he will launch and lay the foundation for various development projects worth approximately 24,000 crores in Dahod. These projects include railway initiatives and other works by the Gujarat government. Modi will also flag off the Vande Bharat Express train between Veraval and Ahmedabad. Additionally, he will inaugurate the gauge conversion project in the Katosan-Kalol section, allowing freight trains to operate.

Later, PM Modi will travel to Bhuj to inaugurate development projects exceeding 53,400 crores. He is expected to address another public gathering there. Key projects in the power sector will include transmission projects for renewable energy generated from the Khavda Renewable Energy Park and expansion of the transmission network. Other notable projects include the Ultra Super Critical Thermal Power Plant unit at Tapi and various road, water, and solar initiatives by the state government.

On May 27, Modi will visit Gandhinagar to celebrate 20 years of the Urban Development Mission initiated by him when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He will launch the Urban Development Year 2025 and address the audience at this event. The Urban Development Year 2005 aimed to improve infrastructure, governance, and the quality of life for urban residents in Gujarat.

The Prime Minister’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and building world-class travel infrastructure is evident in these projects. The newly inaugurated locomotive manufacturing plant will produce 9,000 HP electric locomotives, which will help increase the freight loading capacity of Indian Railways. These locomotives will be equipped with regenerative braking systems, designed to reduce energy consumption and contribute to environmental sustainability.
