Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on May 26 and 27 for two days. His visit will include various events in cities like Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Dahod, and Kutch. These events will feature roadshows and public meetings. In preparation for the Prime Minister’s arrival, the security arrangements are extensive. The Special Protection Group (SPG), known for its elite security capabilities, has already arrived in Gujarat to oversee the safety measures.
Ahead of PM Modi’s visit, a high alert has been issued across these cities. A three-layer security system has been established in each location, involving local police, the State Reserve Force, and SPG units. The head of the state police, D.V. Sahay, is personally supervising the security arrangements. He has begun inspections at various sites and has provided clear directions to officers at every stage.
According to Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik, the security plan for PM Modi’s route has been intensively prepared. There will be rehearsals in the coming days to ensure everything runs smoothly. Additionally, there is a special traffic plan in place, which includes traffic diversions, AMTS services, and parking arrangements. Travellers heading to the airport on the day of the Prime Minister’s programme are advised to leave at least two hours early.
At each public meeting and roadshow venue, the SPG has taken charge of security. Local officials have been assigned specific responsibilities at these sites. To ensure security measures are effective, alerts have been issued based on ongoing combing operations and inputs from local intelligence.
Due to the Prime Minister’s visit, a ban on drone usage has been enforced in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Dahod, Kutch, and Vadodara. District police chiefs will issue public notices to prevent any disturbances or misconduct during this period.
This visit is politically significant, with extensive security measures being put in place across the five major cities in the state. With the presence of the SPG and the active involvement of state officials, Gujarat will effectively become a ‘High Security Zone’ for the next two days, ensuring the safety of the Prime Minister and the public alike.
